EveryBlock, a product of Comcast, is a hyper-local source of neighborhood information. It offers the users local news, events, crime reports based on their location. It also functions as a platform for neighbor to neighbor discussions. EveryBlock is available online as well as mobile and offers it’s users an email subscription option to receive a daily digest of information.
I was asked to bring a fresh perspective not only to the look and feel, but also the user experience. EveryBlock was wildly successful in Chicago where it originally launched a few years back – but the newer metro’s were not gaining the traction and usage stakeholders desired. Neighbors weren’t communicating, people were not posting content… it was ultimately a news feed, with a sprinkling of human interaction.
